Derbyshire Honey
DERBYSHIRE HONEY
We now sell local Derbyshire Honey, supplied to us by a beekeeper at Chesterfield.
His honey bees are kept on two different sites and currently works over 20 hives. The first site is in his home village of Birchover and the second site is at Scaddows farm which is also in derbyshire. The honey is made up from the nectar of flowers from the surrounding countryside including wild and garden flowers, as well as any flowering crops grown locally.
All the honey is 100% pure honey, nothing is added to it and it is not heated during packing or processing. Honey that you buy from the supermarkets that is marketed as spreadable or appears runny has been heat treated. This process results in a loss of the more delicate flavours and aromas that are found in natural honey.
All honey that has not been heat treated will set hard. If you prefer the runny honey just heat it gently either on a radiator or in the micromave until it's spreadable again - it will keep setting though - that's just the nature of honey.
As well as the DERBYSHIRE HONEY we also stock a wide range of other varieties including.
